The Intangible Goodness

Unless you are dead, you will know that McLaren have finally allowed Journalists to fill our eyes and ears with the details of the new, snappily named, MP4-12c. I’m sure there is a very historical and poignant  reason why it has such a name, but to be honest , I don’t care at the moment, as I have other business to bore you with.

EVO’s Chris Harris not only makes a very good point here, but also conveys a lot of emotion, in a piece which I think any car person will truly understand.

It made me think, not about the difference between a Ferrari and a McLaren, but the ability of a “car person” to detect character in a collection of metal and plastic, and the brilliant feeling you get when it presses your very personal set of buttons.

So my point it is, if you haven’t yet experienced the “emotional” connection with a car you are either A) driving the wrong car or B) a normal person. If you definitely don’t fall under B, then I suggest you start test driving, because there are few better feelings in life than being in the right car on the right road at the right time. Its a gift, use it and enjoy it. (Just don’t tell the other half, it can be expensive)

An MP4 at the launch, sat emotionless, after earlier running over a cat.
